Game Description

1701 A.D. is a unique empire building sim set in the period of the 17th and 18th centuries. In this third addition to the incredibly successful series, players are immersed in the golden age of exploration and trade, where they set out to discorer and inhabit new lands and grow their small colonies into thriving cities. Players are tasked with establishing, expanding and maintaining a flourishing medieval metropolis while ineracting with native peoples and other players through trade, diplomacy or conflict.

Easy to learn, yet challenging to master, 1701 A.D. is the ideal game for players intimidated by the steep learning curve of other empire building titles. Instead of a linear, mission-based game, 1701 A.D. lets players set their own goals and play their way while interacting with the game world and more than 100 “sub-quests” that offer various rewards. In addition to an easy, intuitive control scheme that is easy to pick up and play, 1701 A.D. presents gamers with a beautiful, lush 3D world that truly feels alive. Citizens of the player’s towns react to the quality of life, good or bad, with animated celebrations or rioutous protests, while the plants, animals and other elements of the world come to life through a variety of entertaining animations.
